Home Heat Transfer Extension: Engineering Design Challenge
Driving question: How can we engineer (design, build, test, revise) a home to minimize thermal energy transfer?
Expand your students’ learning from VEEP's Home Heat Transfer workshop or storyline, applying engineering principles to construct a house that minimizes thermal energy transfer. Students are challenged to build a “house” from a windowed cake box, insulate and seal it with various materials, and test the results, exploring thermal energy, heat transfer, data analysis, and the environmental effects of home weatherization.
