Driving Question:

How can we use less energy?

Learning targets:

  • Students will learn what energy is and think about what we do that uses energy
  • Students will look at electricity, heating, and transportation energy and think about how they can use LESS in all of these categories
  • Students will begin to learn how using energy can have an impact on the environment, and make a plan to use less energy in their lives

Young students gain a basic understanding of energy and the importance of conservation and efficiency in the following 5 lessons:

Introduction -What is energy?  What uses energy?

Lights and Energy -How can we use less electric energy?

Shut the Door -How can we use less energy to stay warm?

Transportation -How can we use less energy to travel to school?

Action Projects -What can YOU do to use less energy at home?
