The challenge?
How will we, as Next Generation educators and learners, reduce greenhouse gas emissions through sustainable, just, and equitable solutions in our local communities?
The impetus?
Following last year's Summer Institute, we realized that more folks wanted to access the interactive and empowering program we had developed, but didn't have time to commit over the summer. This series is meant to be an accessible, but slightly abbreviated professional learning experience for those educators hoping to suit up and take action on energy or climate issues in 2022! You will receive equipment and materials by mail so that you can participate in the hands-on experiments and inquiry-based learning that are integral to these workshops. All of our work will be aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards and integrate principles of equity and inclusion in teaching and learning.
The Agenda?
5 Virtual Workshops, 100 minutes each. Each Hundred-Minute Workshop can be stand-alone, but each will incorporate concepts from the others to build a comprehensive progression and program. Attending all five in the series will yield the most robust Energy Action Hero training experience! PD hours are available; 1.5 PD hours per workshop or 8 PD hours for the whole series
